THE PUPOSE OF SEMYAN
The SEMYAN Project is the groundwork for a collaborative virtual network of databases that will serve to give South Eastern Michigan's young adults(13yrs-25yrs.) options for employment, companionship, career and interest exploration and training,entertainment gateways, and volunteer opportunities. The links found on the right side of the web site are gateways to internal databases as well as databases found on other web sites. The project coordinator is a second year Masters in Social Work student at Wayne State University that has been a part of the online community since 1992. The AIM of the project is to provide young adults with healthy and nuturing career and interest exploration resources that are intuitively designed to centralize the resources necessary to gain meaningful long-term employment.
The vision of the SEMYAN project is to provide our youth with the KNOWLEDGE of where the jobs are today, and where they will be tommow to prepare our citizens for the 21st Century.
